Osseo Senior High School BPA compete at regional business competition

Osseo Senior High School (OSH) Business Professionals of America (BPA) students recently competed in a regional business competition on Jan. 31 at Anoka Ramsey Community College. Going head-to-head with peers from the area, these young professionals dominated the competition, with every competitor placing in the top 10 of their events.

The depth of talent on the team was evident in the final results of the competition. Junior Nimo Ibrahim swept three first-place victories in Administrative Support Concepts, Digital Communication and Design Concepts, and Digital Marketing Concepts. The Administrative Support Team, including juniors Oluwaseun Alagbala, Myriam Akakpo, Neladon Khamphavong, and Jasmine Mambu, claimed top honors in their category. Junior Hikma Adam showcased exceptional versatility, securing first place in Basic Office Systems and Procedures while placing in five additional categories. Sophomore Alison Sengsoulichanh topped Health Administration Procedures, while junior Aja Kaddy Sonko led in Health Insurance & Medical Billing. Teams excelled across the board, from Visual Design to Global Marketing, demonstrating the program's comprehensive strength.

These achievements earned 37 students their tickets to the state competition in March, where they'll compete for spots at the National Leadership Conference this spring. Behind these successes stands a dedicated team of educators who understand that business education transcends traditional boundaries, working to build future leaders who can tackle real-world challenges with confidence and competence.

OSH is preparing to expand its Business Career and Technical Education program in 2026, introducing an enhanced Business Management track complete with a student-run school store. This expansion will build upon the foundation these successful competitors have established, offering future students hands-on experience in policy formulation, operations management, and resource allocation.
