Osseo Robotics students compete in state tournament

The Osseo Robotics program saw remarkable success this season, with three of their teams participating in the state tournament on Feb. 27-28. This achievement represented the culmination of significant hard work, dedication and technical skill by the students, who have spent countless hours designing, building and programming their robots.

The three teams were made up of students from Osseo Middle School and Osseo Senior High School. The team “Vexecutioners” includes seniors Brendan Gilbert, Samuel Larsen-Johnson, Owen Grismer, Oscar Bohn and Mason Perusse. The team “AI Avengers” includes eighth graders Madison Schmitz, Daeja LeCocq, Angie Pereira and Logan Cornick. The team “Vexers” includes seventh graders Joseph Heaser, Jackson Wilcox and Chase Freeman.

The state tournament proved to be a valuable experience for the Osseo Robotics teams, providing an opportunity to compete against the best teams in the state, fostering a spirit of friendly competition and encouraging innovation. Furthermore, participation in such an event cultivated essential skills such as teamwork, problem-solving and critical thinking, which will benefit these students in their future academic and professional pursuits.
